Happy Friday!
We had a very fun day at school today. In Reading, we read a wonderful storybook called The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt. The story is all about crayons writing letters to their owner telling him that they are upset and want to "quit". Students made their own jumbo crayons and wrote letters to their favorite crayon trying to convince it not to quit. They had a blast and really enjoyed the story/activity. I highly recommend the book! In Math, we had the Noetic Math Awards ceremony for grades 2-8. Several students in our class won awards and it was great to cheer them on! Their specials today were Science, Art, and Spanish.
This weekend's homework:
-Reading log due Monday
-Final copy of opinion essay due Monday (most finished in class)
-Bring in a purple t-shirt for decorating
-Field day permission slips
*Reminder that Monday is pajama day! Students are invited to wear pajamas, slippers, and bring one stuffed animal to school! :)
Have a wonderful weekend!
